Insecurity.

I hope you know that everyone has their own insecurities, not just you. None of us shares the same exact background or life path — everyone has something they’re not so proud of or has experienced unhappy moments in life, and like you, others are also more likely to keep these to themselves. We all have something to work on, and our job is to become the best version of ourselves, not someone else.

I hope you trust that your insecurities are there to serve you. In one way or the other, they are there to remind you not to take yourself too seriously, to build disciplines, to understand yourself deeply — they are there to teach you invaluable lessons that only you would be able to comprehend. Still, once you master them, they’ll turn into your secret sauce.

I hope you give your insecurities a chance to have a conversation with you rather than shutting them down as soon as they show up. Try greeting them with a smile when you see them — ego is your enemy, not insecurity. It’s easy to fall into the trap of “feeling good.” Ego can make you feel good, really good, yet it often lures you into making the wrong decisions and estranges you from your core values. Insecurity, on the other hand, can make you feel unsettled, anxious, lonely, or even introduce you to your darkest fear that you don’t wish to know — it doesn’t make you feel good, but it has the potential to waken your inner strength and show you your path to self-improvement, whispering in your ear that you’re human.

I hope you embrace all of your insecurities and channel them into your force to grow — when you make friends with your own insecurities and work with them instead of against them, you’ll become indomitable. But you know what’s also truly beautiful? It is that as you learn to embrace your insecurities, you inspire others to do the same for themselves, too 🌸
